The new-generation 2026 KTM 690 SMC R is very impressive out of the box, and it responds well to mods. Here are our first dyno results.

JB Performance intake installed on a 2026 KTM 690 SMC R with the seat removed

The setup

  • Bike: 2026 KTM 690 SMC R
  • Intake: JB Performance intake for 2026–2027 models
  • Exhaust: stock
  • ECU: reflashed with fueling and timing changes only

The result

The bike went from 66.49 to 73.54 rear-wheel hp, a 7 hp gain, with peak torque up from 46.45 to 51.26.

Dyno sheet for a 2026 KTM 690 SMC R: stock vs the JB intake and ECU reflash, with and without the catalytic converter

The same sheet also shows the intake and reflash with the catalytic converter removed from the stock head pipe, still using the stock muffler, at 73.52 hp.

What’s next

We are early in our ECU-flashing development on this platform, and this is a clear step in the right direction. We will keep updating the dyno result page as the map is refined. The intake is available now in the shop.
